G.H.Bass

Untitled 3

Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H.Bass began with a man on a simple mission - “To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended.” In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for “loafing in the field,” and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – introducing the world’s very first penny loafer.

Worn by presidents and Hollywood legends alike, Weejuns have been a staple for some of the most influential subcultures in fashion history. 80 years later, Weejuns are still handmade ethically in our factory in El Salvador, using the same time-honored techniques pioneered in 1936.
